Job Description
We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Staff Nurse with previous experience of working in Oncology to join our Oncology Unit and provide specialist nursing expertise to the care our patients. As the successful post holder, you will be responsible for ensuring that patients and visitors receive the level of service that conforms to LOC vision, aspiration and values. You will be working to provide specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers, without supervision, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Hours: This is a Full Time position, working 37.5 hours per week MON - FRI and NO NIGHTS Salary: £35,673 - £40,401 per annum depending on experience To request a detailed Job Description or arrange an informal visit, email:

Duties & Responsibilities
Independently assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care Provide effective on-going evaluation of nursing care and interventions Implement changes in care smoothly, consulting patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team Recognise and take appropriate action in emergency situations Record, monitor and interpret patient vital signs, reporting to the nurse in charge Accurately monitor and document nursing outcomes

Skills & Experience
RGN, NMC registered. Previous Chemotherapy / Oncology Nursing knowledge of chemotherapy treatment regimes Skilled in Phlebotomy / Cannulation / Care of CVADs/ IV administration Sound patient assessment skills Effective preceptorship / mentorship skills Ability to motivate and contribute to team working Advanced life support

The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate sensitively with people from all cultures and backgrounds, as they will have a passion for delivering customer service and a desire to provide an exceptional patient experience. They will be proactive and highly organised as they will be adaptable and able to meet changing working patterns and caseload, working independently as well as within the team
