Break into prison healthcare!

We have a Staff Nurse opportunities within both our Inpatient Healthcare Unit (IHU) and Primary Healthcare Centres. The IHU provides care to prisoners with both mental and physical health problems, minor surgery, medical, rehabilitation/post operative care and palliative care. The Unit also provides a safe environment for the stabilisation and detoxification of prisoners with substance misuse problems.

Our two site based Primary Healthcare Centres provide a comprehensive primary care service, GP appointments, nurse led clinics, screening programmes and health promotion work. An emergency response service to prison wings is also provided

The work is varied and successful applicants will be expected to work flexibly in line with service need. There will also be the opportunity to work across locations on a rotational basis.

We invite applications from those wishing to work full or part time – and all posts will require an element of rotation from days to nights.

We also welcome applications from newly qualified nurses seeking that important first post. We can offer the full range of preceptorship in a clinical environment where you can expect to see and work with a wider range of health issues than you would experience in most other areas of the NHS.

Further Job Information

This is a full time, permanent role. The salary for this role is £22,000 - £29,000 per annum - depending on experience.
