Break into prison healthcare!

Do you want a new and exciting challenge? Are you looking to make a real difference with what you do? Care UK are looking for nurses to join our team at HMP Dovegate, an adult male prison in Uttoxeter.

About Care UK

Care UK is the Health in Justice market leader, providing healthcare services to offenders across the country. Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach – an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes.

About the Job

It’s not just the environment that’s varied here, the role is too. You can expect to be involved in everything from clinical triage to the evaluation and development of patient care and standards. You’ll carry out – and potentially develop – nurse-led clinics, reviewing patient histories, undertaking relevant examinations and tests, organising any necessary treatment and referring patients to other healthcare professionals when you need to. Across everything you do, you’ll maintain accurate records and provide the kind of helpful, empathetic support that will make every patient feel at ease.

Further job information

The full time salary range for this role will be £24,500 - £29,000 per annum - dependent on experience. We have full time and part time opportunities. We are now able to offer a rotational post working between HMP Foston Hall and HMP Dovegate which gives you the opportunity to work across a female and male establishment. Please do speak to us in more detail if this would interest you! Please note that this role is subject to Care UK Terms & Conditions and offers of employment are subject to satisfactory receipt of references, enhanced DBS check and prison vetting.

You will be a qualified RGN or RMN with current and valid NMC registration. You'll also have evidence of continuing professional development and be willing to undertake further training and development relevant to your area of practice and service development.
