Job Summary

Care UK have two vacancies for Registered Nurses to work in the Endoscopy Unit at Southampton Treatment Centre.

The roles are both permanent for 37.5 hours per week.

The manager is happy to consider registered nurses without Endoscopy experience as training can be provided.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

•Maintain and monitor high standards of care by using a systematic approach to individualised care, by planning and delivering care around the model of nursing in the clinical area
•Ensure all documentation is completed, legible, signed and kept relevant and up to date
•Maintain knowledge base of equipment used within the unit (i.e. manual handling devices, cardiac arrest equipment etc)
•Be responsible for maintaining safe custody, witnessing, recording and delivery of all medication to patients in accordance with the Treatment Centre’s policy
•Be aware of the NMC Code of Conduct and work within its confines
•Perform duties with due regard to the Scope of Professional Practice and be willing to extend skills for the benefit of patient care
•Have a good understanding of the difference between local anaesthetic and sedation and to give appropriate advice accordingly
