Part time and full time opportunities available
Person Specification: The hospital are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurses to join their nursing teams, incorporating the care of trauma, elective and orthogeriatric patients.
You will be responsible for delivering quality nursing care that supports the department to provide a quality service that responds to the needs of their orthopaedic patients.
The hospital offer a pathway for efficient, safe and effective management of patients with a fractured neck or femur, and an enhanced recovery programme for patients undergoing elective hip and knee replacement surgery. They have a full multidisciplinary approach to their care with ward-based physiotherapists and occupational therapists, and a daily multi-disciplinary team meeting.
A new, and exciting opportunity awaits for you to gain experience in caring for many aspects within the specialty, including rotation between the trauma and elective wards, and completion of their local competency-based training programme, which focuses on aspects of orthopaedic nursing care, including pain management, orthopaedic emergencies and the management of the acutely ill patient.
There are 10 Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeons and one orthogeriatrician who all work very closely with the nursing team striving to provide a quality service.
You will be required to work flexibly across the 24-hour shift pattern and take part in the internal rotation system.
