Our outpatient department at comprises 17 consulting rooms, three treatment rooms, one colposcopy room and a plaster room.


Job Description

As a Staff Nurse you will be involved in all aspects of running a high performing service that delivers excellent customer service to our patients. Your main role will see you working closely with our consultants, supporting them in consultations by taking blood, dressings and injections. However you will also be involved in updating clinic sheets, answering queries from patients, consultants and secretaries and booking consultant rooms.

This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week (working shifts between the hours of 8am - 8pm Monday - Friday).

The attractive and competitive salary for this role is £31,630 - £35,822 and will be dependent upon skills and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan and deliver care to meet patient and family needs
  • Undertake extended roles such as phlebotomy, dressing and injections
  • Chaperoning and assisting medical staff
  • Deputise for senior staff in their absence, demonstrating leadership and management
  • Supervise and direct junior staff, promoting a learning environment
  • Respect and ensure patients privacy and confidentiality
  • Fully document all aspects of patient care and maintain accurate records
  • Provide patients and families with information regarding care and management of their condition


Skills & Experience

For this role, you will have extensive experience of working within a busy outpatients environment, ideally within a private setting. You will be experienced and confident with phlebotomy and have previous wound care experience

The successful candidate will need to be an excellent team player who will take initiative and ownership of their own work to ensure a streamlined service for our patients. This environment will also require you to be highly organised and adaptable to meet changing working patterns and caseload, working independently as well as within the team. The centre sees a lot of patients from a variety of cultural backgrounds, so excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential to be successful in this role.
