Newly Qualified Nurses

Starting at £22,128, rising to c£24,000

Sutton Scotney, near Winchester, Hampshire

At Naomi House, we provide support to children and young people with complex medical conditions that mean they are unlikely to live into adulthood. We have two specialist units, Naomi House for children, and Jacksplace for young people, and we also offer bereavement support to the family as needed.

We have a brand new preceptorship programme working with University Hospital Southampton (UHS) starting in October this year, and we are seeking newly qualifi ed paediatric nurses wishing to develop their skills in complex care.

You will spend the majority of your fi rst year in the acute hospital environment, enabling you to develop your skills, competence and confidence in a variety of ward environments. Throughout this period, you will follow our paediatric preceptorship programme, offering first-rate training supported by UHS and Naomi House.

The final six months will be hospice-based, where you will begin to develop the knowledge and skills required to nurse in busy modern children’s and young person’s hospices.

It’s not all about clinical skills though. Play, activities and socialisation are a key part of a child or young person’s wellbeing.

Benefits include 28 days holiday and the ability to remain in the NHS pension for current members. This is a permanent contract with Naomi House and preceptees will hold honorary contracts with UHS.

For more information and to apply, please click the apply button or contact June Morton, HR Director on 01962 765044.

Closing date: 31st August 2017.

Successful applicants will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

We are an Equal Opportunities employer, welcoming applications from all sections of the community.
