Our client was established in 1999 and has since grown to operate 20 care homes, predominantly in the northern Home Counties. The group offers a range of services which includes residential, nursing, frail elderly and dementia care

A great opportunity has arisen for flexible and compassionate Nurses for both day and night shifts to join their friendly team at their 76 bedded home set in spacious and picturesque grounds in Wantage, Oxfordshire.

For the position, you will have a key responsibility for the quality of nursing assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care staff training to ensure that at all times residents receive an excellent standard of care.
For the position, you be required to have full knowledge of and to follow the NMC professional code of conduct.
The ideal candidate would be compassionate yet assertive, able to drive compliance with an inspirational lead, delivering positive changes and continuous improvement in the quality of care.

Duties and Responsibilities
·To take charge of the Home in the absence of the Manager.

·To follow agreed home nursing procedures / policies relating to the maintenance and improvement of standards of care.

·To follow the NMC / Home policy relating to the ordering, administration, storage and control of drugs.

·To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care and to report on residents conditions clearly and concisely.
·To assist the Senior Nurse/Manager in assessing, implementing and evaluating a high standard of residents care.

·Maintain effective communications, both verbal and written, making accurate reports on residents and inform other members of the senior care team of day to day changes.

·Carry out Staff Supervision and Appraisals with Team/Unit allocated.

·Assist with the recruitment and selection process of new staff of all grades.

·Carry out Staff Induction Programme.
·
·Completion of the duty rota as necessary.

·Carry out Internal Quality Audits as agreed with the Manager.
·
·Participate fully in the training and development of all grades of staff.



Key Requirements

·A caring nature and a sincere compassion, honesty and respect for vulnerable adults

·Excellent communication skills

·Ability to work with different kind of clients and attend their needs by delivering physical, psychological and social care and supporting the smooth running of the routines within the homes

·Assume leadership responsibilities in motivating the staff to:
oAchieve a high standard of care.
oCarry out appropriate skills for the job.
oDirection and support.
oAbility to work under pressure, on your own or as part of the team

·Nursing qualification and current NMC registration

·Leading and supervising

·Writing and reporting skills

·Relationship and team building skills

·You must have a minimum of 2 years' experience of working as a Nurse.

·You must be RGN qualified.
