BMI Bishops Wood Hospital is part of BMI Healthcare, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. 

We have an opportunity for a Quality & Risk Manager to join their team of staff in the Quality & Risk department.

This is a PART time role for 22.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Clinical qualification
  • Management Diploma or Degree 
  • Working knowledge of healthcare legislation and regulatory standards.
  • Governance frameworks and processes
  • Understanding of Data Protection regulations and Caldicott principles
  • Quality/risk management/clinical governance experience in an acute hospital
  • Ability to prioritise completing tasks against competing deadlines.
  • Ability to support and influence as will often require action and compliance from staff for which you do not have operational line management responsibility.
  • Experience in CQC preparation and inspections
  • Good change management skills.

Duties of this role include:

  • To provide leadership and support to ensure the implementation and delivery of the BMI Healthcare & Clementine Churchill Hospital Quality, Risk (including Health & Safety) Governance Strategies
  • To focus on maintaining compliance with regulatory standards i.e. Care Quality Commission and Management of Health & Safety at work regulation.  To coordinate the implementation of robust compliance mechanisms which review and audit key quality and risk functions within the hospital.
  • Be fully conversant with relevant Regulatory Standards.
  • With the Director of Clinical Services maintain a database of evidence of compliance.
  • With the Director of Clinical Services ensure readiness of hospital for CQC inspection.
  • Support hospital during CQC inspections and co-ordinate with the Senior Management Team the response to reports and drafting and implementation of actions plans to address any compliance issues identified.
  • Support hospital staff to apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly.
  • Super User for the Riskman system.
  • Support HODs with their investigations into incidents and ensure Riskman is updated with the outcomes and actions taken.
