Job Description

The Lead Radiotherapist will work as a senior member of the radiotherapy team and will be responsible for maintaining and developing the radiotherapy service.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Being responsible for a team of radiographers working in a designated area
  • Being accountable for accurate administration or planning of radiotherapy treatments ensuring accurate documentation of treatments in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • In conjunction with other senior radiography staff, agree, implement and monitor systems of work, quality assurance procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain effective liaison with all appropriate staff to ensure the provision of a high quality service and a smooth and efficient work flow through the department.
  • Operate radiotherapy equipment in accordance with operational procedures ensuring routine quality assurance procedures are carried out.


Skills & Experience

  • DCR(T)/BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Radiography or equivalent
  • HCPC registration
  • Minimum of four years post qualification clinical experience
  • Wide range of professional expertise
  • Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures
