We offer a salary of between £25,000 - £28,462 per annum depending on experience, plus other benefits including on-site gym facilities and on-site staff parking as well as access to bank hours, CPD and revalidation.

About the Job:

Nursing in prison is never predictable and the work is never the same. Your role will incorporate elements of primary care, emergency care, substance misuse, mental health and suicide prevention. You will also be an integral part of the wider prison team contributing to the rehabilitative culture within the establishment. The situation in prison can change at any minute. You need to able to think on your feet and make quick autonomous decisions in what can be a challenging environment.

It’s this variety that keeps things fresh and stimulating. Every day will bring new challenges and new experiences but you’ll have all the support you need to deliver the best care possible from both the healthcare team and the prison team.

Nursing in prison is a role like no other and can ultimately be extremely rewarding.

About You:

You will be a qualified Registered Nurse (Adult) with a real passion for developing your clinical skills in an environment that is ever changing. You’ll have a flexible approach working within a team that encourage new ideas and opinions on how to improve the service.

If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!

You do not need to have prison experience as we will provide you with an induction including a 2 day course introducing you to Health in Justice at Care UK.

Are you thinking about it but aren’t sure if it’s for you? We welcome informal visits to come and have a chat with us and see what we do

Further Information:
