Care UK have a new vacancy for a Charge Nurse to join the team at HMP Pentonville in N7, London. This is an exciting opportunity for a Charge Nurse to develop their clinical skills in an environment where no two days are the same. The Substance Misuse Charge Nurse will support and motivate individuals to take control of their lives and to make changes to overcome dependence on substances and move onto a life free of offending. We are offering a salary of up to £36,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus other Care UK employee benefits including 25 days annual leave plus 8 public bank holidays and a 2-5% company contributory pension scheme.



About the Job



As the Charge Nurse you will work as part of the nursing team, utilizing your clinical expertise, decision making and problem solving skills to provide skilled and evidence based nursing care for patients in the prison. You will work within your scope of practice, in accordance with Care UK and prison service policies and procedures in line with the NMC Code of professional conduct, performance and ethics for nurses and midwives. The Charge Nurse is responsible for the continuing management of patients and acute and long term medical conditions, including assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, health promotion actively and care of vulnerable offenders.



About You



To be considered for this role you will be a Level 1 RGN/RN (adult) and have post registration nursing experience. You’ll also hold a current NMC registration and have evidence of continued professional development post registration.

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis. The salary range for this role is £30,000 - £36,000 per annum - dependent on experience. We also offer training & development opportunities, 2-5% company contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave plus 8 public bank holidays. On each of the wings there is a primary care facility incorporating a GP's clinic and area for dispensing of medication. These also include; Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Podiatry & Physiotherapy.
