Job Summary

We are looking for a Clinical Supervisor to join our team in Dudley. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior Paramedic or Nurse who has experience in leading a team and is now wanting to progress into a different healthcare career.

As the Clinical Supervisor you will provide line management to Clinical Advisors within the 111 call centre and provide training, coaching and monitoring of Clinical Advisors.

You will be responsible in promoting and monitoring safe and effective practice and enhancing the patient/clients experience of using the 111 service.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to step into NHS 111 and lead and develop a team of Clinical Advisors.

As the Clinical Supervisor, this is a position of key responsibility for the effective delivery of Care UK's NHS 111 services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide training for Clinical Advisors in the use of NHS Pathways or other software agreed by the provider.
2. Maintain communication link between different operational staff and other Managers/Supervisors
3. Create and maintain full training records for all Clinical Advisors
4. To provide coaching as defined within the NHS Pathways role
5. To conduct audits in line with NQR and NHS Pathways CQI requirements
6. Performance manage Clinical Advisors to support the achievement of NQR’s and other service requirements or KPI’s and their own professional development
7. To participate with investigation of complaints as requested by the Clinical Manager and Senior Manager Clinical Lead
8. Undertake regular one to one reviews and staff meetings
9. Ensure overnight health assessments are monitored
10. Monitor sickness, annual leave and staff attendance
11. Ensure Clinical Advisors are updated regularly regarding changes to policy/procedures or new business.
12. Ensure Operational Manuals (procedures and training) are kept up to date.
13. Act as a role model at all times for more junior staff
14. Participate when required in Care UK activities outside the Call Centre
15. Adhere to Care UK Policies and Procedures at all times
16. Support the investigation of complaints and serious untoward incidents

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or State Registered Paramedic

Additional Information

All offers are subject to satisfactory references and DBS checks .
This is paying up to £38,000 depending on experience



• Demonstrable experience relevant to the role
• Experience of working within a multi-professional / multi-agency environment.
• Experience of working in more than one environment which may include:
- Assessing patients in primary care
- Working with children / infants
- A&E or Medical /Surgical Assessment Unit
- Assessment of Mental Health needs
• Evidence of Professional Development of staff and staff appraisal.
• Management / Leadership experience

• Understand the role of a 111Clinical & Health Advisor
• Sound understanding of telephone advice NHS Pathways and Clinical Module.
• Understanding of patient management in a variety of settings setting
• Sound understanding of legal / professional implications of independent practice
