About The Facility

London Bridge Hospital is expanding in 2017 into the top four floors of the new Guy's Cancer Centre. With 38.2 million pound investment and 60,000 square feet this purpose built facility will allow London Bridge Hospital to house its cancer services in one roof. Consultants from London's top teaching hospitals will offer full surgical provision in urology, gynaecology, breast, ENT, maxillofacial and head and neck, as well as reconstructive surgery for these specialties. The hospital will partner with Leaders in Oncology (LOC) across chemotherapy, outpatient oncology and haematology.

The new site will encompass inpatient and daycase beds, operating theatres including the first integrated robotics theatre in the UK, housing a Da Vinci Robot. There will also be a chemotherapy unit, outpatient consulting, Level 3 Critical Care and Imaging including X-Ray, MRI and Ultrasound.

The London Bridge Hospital campus in South East London encompasses the recently opened outpatients and diagnostic centre in The Shard, the large world-class hospital based at the Tooley Street site, and a further five outpatient and diagnostic centres across the City, Canary Wharf and Kent. Patients benefit from multidisciplinary streamlined care, investment in leading-edge technology and London teaching hospital consultants.



Job Description

Our Physiotherapy service across the London Bridge campus is committed to providing a first class service to all clients and our staff are fully qualified and trained in a wide range of specialised skills which enable us to provide excellent treatment options, using the most up-to-date technological advances to aid rehabilitation.

As a Senior Physiotherapist for our Cardio-Respiratory and general surgery services and ITU, you will be based at London Bridge, managing patients with respiratory and medical conditions by providing a highly specialised service. In addition to this, you will use clinical reasoning to recommend best course of intervention, developing comprehensive treatment plans related to patient centred goals.

This is a part time role working 7.5hrs per week (or 15 hrs every fortnight on weekends) and may also involve on calls and standbys. You will also need to be available to work on a week day a minimum x1 per month and attend initial corporate and ward induction days.

The attractive and competitive salary for this role is circa £36,937 - £44,271 pro rata and will bedependent upon skills and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritise a caseload of patients
  • Responsible for the weekend Physiotherapy service on the respiratory and medical wards
  • Support respiratory colleagues and bank physios, working closely with the Occupational therapy team and MDT
  • Responsible for the safe and timely discharge of patients
  • Responsible for service development tasks within Cardio-Respiratory and general surgery/medicine specialities.



Skills & Experience

A HCPC registered professional, you will have substantial experience of working within an inpatient hospital environment. The majority of your experience will be within Cardio-Respiratory and surgical with rotations in ITU and be oncall competent.
