About the Department
The Diabetes Education Nurse Facilitator (DENF) team is part of the Diabetes Education Department, within the Clinical Medical Regulatory department and our focus is to support primary healthcare organisations to meet the demands of managing diabetes today and tomorrow. 
 
The Role
This role will be based in South therefore you must be live in the Southern region (South Central/East, London, Greater London)

This role will aim to supplement existing DENF activity in a region and or project manage specific initiatives to further develop services for the NHS in a locality or which progresses DENF services nationally.  The role is field based; however the Head Office support sits within our CMR (Clinical, Medical, and Regulatory) department.  
 
Primarily the DENF role focusses on the delivery of structured education programmes to primary care predominantly through the MERIT (Meeting Education Requirements Improving Treatment) and Clinical Review Service.
  
Qualifications
You will be a registered nurse with post graduate nursing experience with significant experience and skill in all aspects of diabetes management ideally as a diabetes specialist nurse. You will hold the ENB 928 and/or other recognised course in diabetes management.
 
Ideally you will have had experience of working in an autonomous capacity which will include time and workload management.  Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential and experience of conducting educational sessions with healthcare colleagues and people with diabetes on a 1:1 or group basis would be an advantage.  You are required to live within the territory for which you are applying and flexibility to cover the whole geography is essential; therefore you will need a current driving licence.
