Job Details
Growing demand means that we are now looking to recruit a registered Nurse to help support the work of our highly experienced Nurse Specialists, with the role ideally suiting someone looking to reduce time spent in hands-on spinal cord injury nursing in favour of applying their knowledge and experience in an advice-giving and signposting capacity.
Spinal Cord Injury Nurse Advisor (part-time)
Location: Milton Keynes
Hours: 12hrs per week
Salary: £8,760 per annum (£25,550 pro rata) + benefits
The Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) is a leading national organisation supporting individuals who sustain damage to the spinal cord resulting in paralysis. We are a passionate organisation that has over forty years’ experience of providing high impact, quality services for spinal cord injured people and their families, and continually strive to evolve our service delivery programme to ensure it meets the ever-changing needs of the community we support.
Established just eighteen months ago, our Nurse Specialist Service provides clinical support to those with newly acquired spinal cord injuries located in acute non-specialist settings, and supports spinal cord injured members of the Association being re-admitted to non-specialist settings for treatment unrelated to their impairment. The Service also provides a programme of SCI-related clinical education for healthcare professionals.
As well as providing clinical advice to service users and healthcare professionals, our Nurse Advisor will triage and record all service referrals, will assist with the delivery of specialist education when required, and will undertake periodic patient visits when appropriate. With a warm and friendly personality, our preferred candidate will have a background in spinal cord injury nursing, possess strong communication and IT skills, be a proactive self-starter and have the ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload.
Based at our offices in Milton Keynes our postholder can expect a welcoming work environment, great job satisfaction and good flexibility of working hours, which are 12 per week. We offer a salary of £8,760 per annum (£25,550 pro rata), plus 28 days leave pro rata (excluding Bank Holidays), access to life assurance and pension schemes and free onsite parking.
Closing date for completed applications: Friday 6th October
Interviews will take place in Milton Keynes on Monday 16th October
