Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an Outpatient Manager to join our dedicated, multi-disciplinary team at Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre in Plymouth.

Recently achieving an "outstanding" rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the treatment centre is the first independent sector treatment centre to achieve this and are in the top three per cent of hospitals in the country to receive this rating.

Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre offers high quality elective surgery for the local populations of Devon and Cornwall, specialising in hip and knee joint replacements, shoulder repair, hand and elbow surgery, foot surgery and minor orthopaedic procedures. We also deliver Ophthalmology, General and ENT surgery.

Key Responsibilities

As the Outpatient Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of patient care, managing, leading, coordinating and overseeing clinical practice for all outpatient services.

You will have clinical responsibility for patient pathways, in order to develop and bring innovation to the department. This will include ensuring effective communication in which high quality, cost effective services are delivered and where creativity, innovation and staff development all underpin the approach to managing the outpatient department in which each member of staff is recognised and valued.

Qualifications

• NMC Registered Nurse Part 1
• ENB 998/Mentorship course

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Recent experience at band 6 level or equivalent in an acute surgical setting.
• Extensive nursing experience in a pre-assessment/outpatient setting
• Taken an active role in promoting, developing and sustaining quality service delivery
• Experience of service development in a clinical area
• The ability to plan the work of a team and to teach, train and develop nursing staff
