An exciting opportunity has arisen for the new developmental role of Patient Safety, Quality and Clinical Governance Advisor to reflect the growth of the organisation and the current re-structuring within the senior clinical team. We are looking for an enthusiastic clinician with an interest and experience in risk management / clinical governance.


As part of our expansion we are seeking to recruit a full or part time (minimum 30 hours / 4 days) Patient Safety, Quality and Clinical Governance Advisor The post holder will be supported by the Associate Director of Quality and Clinical Governance and will work closely with an engaged and energetic clinical leadership team supported by a robust operational management structure and the strong, well established local management teams across the organisation.

 

The Advisor post will work across the whole organisation to support patient safety, quality standards and clinical governance processes.

 

The post holder will ensure that systems and processes are in place to support a systematic approach to reporting, investigation, analysing and managing incidents and risk throughout the organisation whilst ensuring that systems are in place to support an open and honest culture.  

 

The appointee will provide the local management teams across all our services with advice and support across the clinical governance agenda and support the management of serious or complex incidents and complaints. 

 

Although the post holder will be primarily based in the Central Support Office in Hounslow they will offer various levels of direct support working at each site based on their fluctuating requirements.

Requirements

  • Hold NMC or Allied Healthcare
  • Healthcare degree level qualification (or equivalent qualification / experience) Professional registration
  • Evidence of continued learning and professional development 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience at band 6 in clinical practice 
  • Previous experience of working closely with clinicians of varying seniority
  • Datix Experience Experience of analysing problems and identifying solutions
  • Experience of analysing and benchmarking data 
  • Understanding of the Serious Incident (SI) framework
  • Experience with at least one of: 
    • Risk management Audit Complaints 
    • Audit  
    • Complaints
