The busy Ophthalmology department consists of an ambulatory Day Case Unit providing pre and post- operative care to in excess of 60 patients per day, two outpatient clinics, and an Emergency Eye department, providing Ophthalmology care and treatments for patients with a wide variety of Ophthalmic conditions.

We are looking for exceptional, committed, caring and compassionate Staff Nurses both newly qualified and with post-registration experience to join our teams. The Ophthalmology team offers a full range of specialist services in order to facilitate a timely, safe and effective patient journey. Rotation opportunities within the service are fully supported and available with the aim to enable a Registered Nurse to become a multi skilled highly trained Ophthalmology Nurse.

We currently work Monday – Saturday 7:30 – 8pm (No nights / Bank Holidays) within all areas except for the Eye Emergency Department which works Monday – Friday 8:00 – 6pm, Saturday & Sunday 8:00 – 2pm (No nights but some Bank Holidays), and can offer both full time and part time positions, and flexible working.

We will provide the successful candidate with a comprehensive induction programme and you will be supported throughout your career with regular reviews of progression to help you develop appropriate knowledge and skills.
