The hospital have the whole range of neuroscience experiences for Band 5 staff nurses within the following departments
Neurosurgery – emergency, Neurosurgery - elective surgery, Neurology - Neurosciences High dependency unit , Stroke / HASU & Neuro Admissions Lounge
They can also offer exciting opportunities to rotate through these specialities and will consider nurses with no previous hospital experience.
Person Specification: There are exciting opportunities to become part of this future now with the opportunity to expand on your existing nursing experience by moving into neuroscience nursing care in a variety of neuro settings from acute phase to rehabilitation.
Experience in neuroscience nursing is highly desirable, but if you have post registration experience in an acute setting and would like the opportunity to learn new skills there is lots to learn and they have strong links with the clinical research facility and will actively support your development. They strongly support staff education and there is a Neuroscience Nursing course where staff rotate through the different ward areas to see the whole picture from admission to rehabilitation and feedback we have had is that we have the best practice development support in neuro, with a strong clinical nurse specialist team and development days for all grades of staff.
Neuroscience nursing is a vocation, if you have high standards, compassion, excellent communication skills and are interested in making a difference to patient care this may be the role for you.

Benefits: 27 days’ annual leave. This increases to 29 days and 33 days after five and 10 years of NHS service, NHS pension scheme. The package is worth almost 20% of pay overall and includes an inflation-linked pension payable for life, life assurance and flexible working.
The hospital are also pleased to offer an interest free loan of £2000 for relocation expenses to any staff that require it, repayable over the first 12 months of their contract at the Trust
