Job Details

Are you a registered nurse looking for a rewarding career balanced with a great work-life balance? Do you want to have the time to care for your patients and lead by example?

We are looking for a Clinical Site professional to co-ordinate services, initially during the night, weekends and public holidays with occasional weekdays, across our Acute Services site as well as providing professional advice to staff within Community and Elderly Mental Health when required. From January 2018, we will move to a 24hr work pattern, which will mean more weekday shifts.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing acutely unwell and deteriorating patients across the hospital and making primary assessments, instigating emergency treatments and liaising with critical care and medical teams. Crucially, you should maximise the efficient and effective utilisation of the hospital beds by co-ordinating transfer of critically ill patients within the hospital and coordinate off island transfers. In equal measure, you will need to use your advanced clinical skills as able and appropriate and be part of the hospital resuscitation team.

Your strong communication skills will come into play as you will work closely with the nursing team in the Emergency Department to ensure beds are allocated to patients within the four hour target and act as a senior resource for nursing management of critically ill and highly dependent patients across the Service.

If this sounds like the type of role in which you feel you could lead by example and add value, then go to gov.gg/careers today.

Alternatively, to find out more about the role, contact Nick Le Page, Critical Care Advanced Nurse Practitioner on tel 01481 725241 (ext 4237) or John Eaton, Acting Manager - Critical Care Unit on tel. 01481 707463.
