Salary: £30,000 TO £42,000 per annum

Description: Our client, a leading insurance company who provide payments to claimants who are unable to work due to illness or injury and as an Insurance Nurse Specialist you will be office based, providing medical information to the claims department. You will be part of a team including other nurses and doctors.

The role involves analysing complex medical information and providing written advice in lay person’s terms on what the information means and how an individual will be affected on a day to day basis due to their medical condition. You will also be expected to write to treating Consultants, GPs and Nurse Specialists, requesting medical information to support an individual’s insurance claim. You will also contact some claimants by telephone to discuss their medical conditions and find out more about their treatment and how it affects them on a day to day basis.

This is an office based role, with minimal face to face patient interaction.

Working hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday.  

Person Specification: We are looking for a computer competent registered nurse, who is confident using Word, Excel and Outlook, with a range of clinical experiences, who has strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain complex medical conditions in understandable terms. Following a comprehensive induction programme, you will be expected to work without supervision, managing your own workload in an organised and timely manner and be comfortable with report writing.
