Job Summary

Care UK have a vacancy for an Nursing Team Leader to work in the Outpatients department at Southampton Treatment Center.

This is a permanent role for 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Saturday (3x shifts 8.00-18.00/1x shift 08.00-17.30)

The remuneration is £30,750 per annum.

The post holder will be designated to take charge of the department in the absence of the Outpatient Manager and/or Deputy Outpatient Manager. To be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. A clinically focused team leader who can work in pre assessment clinic, minor operations, phlebotomy clinic and Nurse led clinic. Teaching and mentoring all grades of staff. Act as a role model within the multi-disciplinary team.

Some key duties include:

• Comply with CQC, CNST and other standards in the Outpatients Department
• To ensure that all treatments given meet individual patient needs, reflect good practice and are
provided by means of appropriate equipment, within the agreed patient care pathways.
• To enable patients to make informed decisions about their treatment and general welfare.
• To maintain a system for reviewing quality of treatment.
• To ensure adequate levels of staffing in the department.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Registered Nurse on the NMC
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Minimum of 2 years post qualified experience.
• Experience of teaching colleagues/ patients/ relatives.
• Experience in an Outpatient setting
• Proficient at calculating drug doses.
• Ability to present articulate reasoned discussion.
• Ability to problem solve
• Be an effective Outpatient Manager.
• Good communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate
• Organisational skills

DESIRABLE

• Relevant post registration courses
• Private sector experience
