About the Job



Do you have the passion to make a difference to patients who have an urgent care need and are unable to attend their GP? Are you looking to add extra skills to your portfolio? If so, look no further, as we could have the job for you! An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP) to join the Brent Urgent Care Centre (UCC) on a full or part time basis. Brent UCC is based at Central Middlesex Hospital and is provided by Care UK on behalf of the NHS. The UCC offers urgent and immediate medical care when patients are unable to access their own GP as an alternative to A&E. The skill mix within the UCC is ECP, ENP/ANP and GP. You will be responsible for autonomously seeing, treating and discharging all patients with minor injuries and some minor illness. This will include reviewing of x-rays. You may also need to administer medication within your clinical scope using PGDs.

The Requirements



In order for you to be considered for the job, as a minimum we are looking for you to: • Be a qualified Paramedic with valid HCPC pin number. • Have a post registration qualification to show that autonomous clinical practice relevant to Urgent Care. (e.g. BSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, Emergency / Urgent Care) • Be able to administer medication within Patient Group Directions (PGDs) • Have proven post registration experience of working in either; A&E, Primary Care or Minor Injuries/Illness Units It would be nice for you to have any one of the below, although these are not essential: • Have a knowledge of local primary care services • Have a full complete understanding of the medico-legal aspects of the role • Have basic IT skills

We have permanent full or part time positions available on a rota basis, running up to 37.5 hours per week.
