Job Description
We are looking for a Regulation Manager to join our regulatin team, with proven care home regulatory or audit experience (preferably from an external regulatory or health/social care service provier), to conduct internal regulation audits, and provide support and advice to our care homes across the UK.

Reporting directly to the Regulation Manager Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing the executive and senior management with corporate assurance about the regulatory and legislative compliance of Barchester Healthcare services. You will achieve this by conducting a targeted number of regulation audits each year and produce associated written reports.

You must be a 'subject matter expert', able to advise and provide guidence and support to our care home manager to ensure regulatory and legislatative compliance. You will be self motivated with strong interpersonal skills and have experience of working with stakeholders as you will be expected to lead effective relationships at all levels to include; General Managers, Regional Directors and relevant regulatory bodies.

To ensure the business is kept up-to-date with current regulatory matters you will be expected to attend external, regional and national regulatory events. You will also be responsible for enforcing all regulatory matters and issues, including developing policies and best practice guidance across management teams at service, regional and divisional levels, therefore it is essential that you have robust and consistent communication skills.

This is a field based role, and you must be prepared to travel throughout the UK as required; this will include travelling long distances and regular periods of time away from home.

Education

  • NVQ Level 4 or equivalent certification
  • RGN/RMN (desirable)

Experience

  • Regulatory or audit work either within a regulator or health/social care service provider
  • Managing a regulated service (ideally)
  • The wider health and social care system
