Job Details

Barchester Healthcare is looking for an outstanding Care Home General Manager with clinical experience to lead and develop a dynamic team in the delivery of high-quality care and service in this well-established care home.

Barchester is all about doing things a little bit differently, so if you join us as Care Home General Manager, get ready for something new. Our unique approach to the care sector sets us apart, so to make things happen our people need to be a little bit different too.

This is a fantastic time to join Barchester Healthcare, as we roll out one of the best rewards packages in the care sector. We offer a competitive salary and impressive benefits; not least an outstanding profit share scheme, unrivalled in this sector, designed to recognise the excellent performance of you and your team.

As Care Home General Manager you will be a role model in everything you do and represent the home professionally with a wide range of stakeholders and external contacts. You will utilise your strong creative and marketing skills to proactively promote the home in the local community, ensuring the high reputation of the home is communicated to potential residents and referrers.

Our residents and their families expect great services, so you will be expected to provide hands-on support and strong leadership to a team who care passionately about the residents in their care. You will do this by inspiring a culture of continuous improvement and robust two-way communication to ensure that residents' care and social needs are met in a person-centred way.

As you will be expected to develop the home with a strong, existing team, you must be confident in presenting your vision and creative ideas for the home and support the team to build on the excellent work already done at the home.

You will engage with Divisional and Regional initiatives to support growth of the business and lead your team to achieve maximum performance against commercial and financial goals. You will hold, or be prepared to attain, relevant regulatory registered manager status and ensure the home meets all regulatory and statutory requirements including health and safety and COSHH, in compliance with the appropriate Acts.

Barchester encourages a culture of strong performance management so you must have the ability to provide direct, honest, and constructive feedback, whilst nurturing the potential within your team. In return, you will be given every opportunity to enhance your career at Barchester.

Barchester Healthcare has over 200 purpose-built care homes across all areas of the UK and seven private hospitals in the North East specialising in mental health. We are the only care company to have been voted in the Sunday Times Top 25 Big Companies to work for 6 times.

If you have the unique qualities required for this exciting role and want to work with an organisation that provides the type of care you'd expect for your loved ones, we would welcome your application.
