Roald Dahl Neuromuscular Nurse Practitioner

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust

Roald Dahl specialist children’s nurses provide support, information and practical care for seriously ill children, and support the whole family too.  At Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, we are very excited to be developing and expanding our award-winning neuromuscular service within our Paediatric Neurology department.

In partnership with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, we are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic nurse who has a range of experience in looking after children to lead and grow this specialist area. If you have the relevant skills and experience and would welcome the opportunity to develop your own career and our service with support from Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, we would love to hear from you.

The Neuromuscular Nurse Practitioner will be expected to provide a continuity of service provision within the Neuromuscular team, enhancing the care and quality of the life of the child with Neuromuscular disease and will provide a direct point of contact for the families of our complex patients.

This is both an inpatient and outpatient role. It is expected that the Neuromuscular Nurse Practitioner will support some of the Neuromuscular Consultant-led clinics in a supervised capacity as well as undertaking independent clinics.

The successful candidate must have their clincical examination skills course and their non-medical prescribing certificate.

The successful applicant will be eligible to access the Roald Dahl Professional Development Package which will help them to develop their career and the service.

For more information about the role, person specification and the Roald Dahl Professional Development Package, please see our advert on NHS jobs website.

This is a permanent post with all activities dedicated to work with the Neuromuscular team.   The post will be for 37.5 hours week and the sucessful candidate will be required to work Monday – Friday,  09.00 – 17.00.
