Ready to make an impact?

Experienced Occupational Therapist?
Know how to support patients and their families?
Keen to deliver first class care to our patients?

Barchester Healthcare could be just what you're looking for

We're proud of our seven independent hospitals, and rightly so. And when it comes to our care, we know we must continually deliver first class service. Which is why we're looking for an outstanding Occupational Therapist to assist in consolidating and establishing the processes and practices of Occupational Therapy and the development of the service we provide.

You will be expected to provide an environment that is conducive to the needs of our patients and ensure they are treated with dignity and respect.

Our unique approach to the care sector sets us apart, so to make things happen our people need to be a little bit different too.

Your mission will be a simple one: you will be focused on providing clinical related Occupational Therapy intervention that is guided by our patient's specific needs, wishes and aspirations. You'll be ready to join us on our journey and bring your talents to a role where you can have real impact and gain valuable experience to develop your career.

This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious, experienced Occupational Therapist. You must have a Degree in Occupational Therapy and experience of working in a Mental Health environment would also be beneficial.

To continually improve the quality of life for the people in our care, you will develop and implement treatment programmes in liaison with other disciplines; with an emphasis on multi-disciplinary teamwork. You will also be part of the Hospital Clinical Governance Team and contribute to the strategic service delivery and Clinical planning process.

You must regularly monitor and evaluate the Occupational Therapy service provided and maintain up to date professional clinical records to meet legal requirements. You must also ensure that all clients have a comprehensive assessment which assists in the planning of their programme based on clinical need.

You will be responsible for the management and clinical supervision of all Occupational Therapy Assistants. You must ensure that all staff follow agreed policies and procedures, in particular within the Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.

You will be a role model in everything you do and will pass on skills to support staff and promote awareness through workshops and education.

In addition you will take an active part in the Occupational Therapy student placement training and will provide assessment of staff competence as required by clinical responsibility.

You will use your excellent communication skills to promote and maintain good public relations with providers and members of the public and use all reasonable endeavours to promote the interests and welfare of the patients, staff and company.

You will control the allocated budget, utilise resources effectively and provide any statistical returns on the service as requested.

If this is a challenge that excites you, we can offer you plenty in return - from career prospects to great rewards.

As well as a competitive salary, Barchester provides one of the best rewards packages in the care sector. Your generous package will include:
* Free learning and development
* Profit share scheme
* Childcare vouchers
* Retail discounts
* Leisure savings
* Holiday and travel discounts
* Rewards points

If you have the unique qualities required for this exciting role and want to work with an organisation that provides the type of care you'd expect for your loved ones, we would welcome your application.
