We have an excellent opportunity for a Staff Nurse to join our ICU unit in the South building at The Wellington Hospital in St Johns Wood, London (NW8 6PD) Our ICU comprises of a total of 35 beds dedicated to the care of level 3 patients. Split into two units, we are expertly equipped to deal with General, Cardiac and Neuro ICU patients. The Wellington South Critical Care Unit cares for Neurological and general patients and has a total 15 ITU beds and 7 HDU beds.

Job Description

As a Staff Nurse you will join a specialist team of physicians, surgeons and nurses and you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, to meet the needs of the patient and family/carers. Job Type: Full time post, permanent role. Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Shift Pattern: 8am to 8:30pm or 8pm to 8:30am (Rotation and flexibility required for days, nights and weekends) Salary: £31,630 - £35,822 per annum plus 9% shift enhancement. Duties & Responsibilities

- Work well within a team, supervising and directing junior staff and deputising for Senior Staff Nurses in their absence, always ensuring that patient care is at a consistently high level. - To provide a high standard of holistic centred care. - To communicate effectively at all levels within the multi-disciplinary team. - Initiate improvements and developments in clinical issues and delivery of care. - Contributing to the ongoing research based care and other practice development initiatives.

Skills & Experience

- Registered General Nurse with NMC pin. - General Critical Care/ITU/ICU specific skills. - Neuro ITU experience is advantageous. - Motivated and forward thinking individual with excellent communication skills. - Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
