Due to exciting new changes within the Children’s Directorate we are looking for a number of motivated and inspirational children’s nurses to support and deliver the community nursing care to children and young people within these areas.

There is a strong focus to deliver an ‘out of hospital’ agenda within a Tri-Borough service. There is Trust wide commitment to develop and lead community children’s nursing into an exciting and outcomes driven future, through integration and partnership working, to ensure seamless delivery of services across the health system to meet the needs of children and young people in Brent, Harrow and Ealing.

Person Specification:

This is an exciting opportunity for an organized, highly motivated Paediatric Nurse with strong leadership and management skills and community experience to join the Trust family. We have recently formed a new children’s nursing structure within the organisation and we are looking for you to help shape Paediatric Nursing services in the community.

You will have the relevant and demonstrable experience to develop the service using your knowledge and skills to work with other health professionals, children and young people (CYP) within the community setting. Strong leadership and experience of working in the community setting is essential for this role,

The role will involve managing and leading a number of Paediatric nursing teams and specialist nurses. This includes:

  • Community Children’s Nursing Team,
  • Special School Nursing Team,
  • Children’s Continuing Care Team
  • Specialist Health Visitors
  • Asthma Specialist Nurses
  • Haemoglobinopathy Specialist Nurses

Where all members have varied skills and competence in the management of caring for the child at home and educational settings.

The role sits within the Women and Children’s Division of the Trust which comprises both Acute and Community care provision, thus providing a seamless pathway of care for the children and their families

You would need to be an experienced children’s trained nurse, preferably with a recognized specialist qualification and experience of working in a community setting. You will need to have excellent communication skills, and flexibility to support the changing needs of Children’s Nursing.
