Job Details

Located in the heart of London’s esteemed medical district, the newly-refurbished Princess Grace Hospital offers a wide range of medical and surgical specialties. Supported by world-class doctors from leading London teaching hospitals, the hospital has 129 beds, including a purpose-built intensive care unit, catering for Level 3 patients. Our eight fully-equipped theatres include three laminar flow theatres for orthopaedic surgery, a hybrid theatre to enable complex vascular surgery, a robotic surgery suite along with some of the most advanced radiological diagnostic facilities in the country.

Our newly refurbished Day Surgery Unit, which consists of 21 private rooms, opens from 6.30am and closes between 8-10pm receiving on average 24 admissions over the course of the day. We handle a variety of surgical procedures which include; gynaecology, urology, breast, orthopaedic, medical, ENT, radiology and vascular. Being a close knit and hardworking team, we are very proud of the level of customer service and care we provide to our patients which is demonstrated in our patient feedback

Job Description

As the Staff Nurse, working within our Day Surgery unit, you will plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of nursing care whilst working within a multidisciplinary team, supervising and directing junior staff and also temporary staff. You’ll demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and to be accountable for own actions and contribute to the setting of clinical standards, policy and procedures and research based care and other practice development initiatives.

Salary:  £31,630 - £35,822(dependent on experience) + enhancement & HCA Benefits

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and to be accountable for own actions
  • Assess, plan and deliver care to meet patient and family needs
  • Undertake extended roles such as IV cannulation, phlebotomy
  • Contribute to research based care and other practice development initiatives
  • Contribute to the setting of clinical standards, policy and procedure
  • Promote good communication channels amongst staff enhancing good team work
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
  • Deputise for senior staff in their absence, demonstrating leadership and management

Skills & Experience

  • Registered Nurse Level 1 
  • NMC Registration and PREP requirements 
  • Post-graduate experience of a broad range of surgical procedures
  • Basic life support
