Job Summary

Care UK have a vacancy for a Risk and Audit Manager to work at our head office in Reading, Berkshire. This is a permanent role for 37.5 hours per week. The remuneration package is up to £45,000 per annum (£41,000 basic plus £4000 car allowance). The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that Health Care objectives driving high standards of patient care and operational sustainability are achieved through the implementation of proportionate and effective risk management processes to ensure the identification, assessment, recording and mitigation of risks and hazards for both individual local services and the Secondary Care division as a whole. This is a national role that will involve smart working to manage time effectively and the postholder is expected to make best use of Go To Meetings and conference calls where appropriate. Some of the key duties include: • In collaboration with the Head of Health and Safety maintain the Health Care Risk Management policies that are required to support the safe and effective management of risk. • Maintain policies that underpin the audit strategy and activities. • Health Care utilises the Datix system to collect and manage its risks and the post holder is required to ensure the following: • Work with operational, quality and governance managers to ensure risk management tools including the various Datix modules meet the changing needs of the organisation. • Co-ordinate and chair the Datix forum to manage change and facilitate effective stakeholder relationships. • Ensure the availability of risk and patient safety information so that managers can identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Use risk and patient safety data to draw intelligence that facilitates senior leadership decision-making. Support the Business Development team by providing requested information to tight deadlines and provide data to external bodies as required. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL Evidence of a good level of attainment in basic education Leading an audit team, preferably within a health care setting. Working with standard operating procedures and assessment of the effectiveness Using risk assessment and grading tools Developing and maintaining complex tools for measuring and monitoring compliance risk activity. Presenting to staff groups Presenting to Senior management Policy development Managing people A thorough knowledge of risk management processes and their application Knowledge of how to construct Standard Operating procedures and gain staffs’ commitment to their adoption Ability to construct audit tools to assess the effectiveness of SOPs DESIRABLE Degree or other higher education qualification Health care experience Strategy development For more information on Care UK please visit www.careukhealthcare.com
