About the Job

Care UK is providing the Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) services across the West Midlands. This means that we will be delivering urgent care through NHS 111, utilising GPs and specialist clinicians to deliver the best possible urgent care services 24/7, 365 days per year, to over 4 million patients in the West Midlands. To help to deliver this vision, we wish to appoint a Pharmacist Advisor on a permanent part-time basis to work at our clinical hub in Brierley Hill. We have shifts available on Thursday/Friday evenings, and all day on Saturday & Sunday. Within this job, you will be responsible for: • Providing safe and effective telephone advice about medicines use and pharmaceutical care to clinicians, patients and carers accessing the IUC Service. • Assisting the clinical hub team in assessing and managing referrals such as repeat prescription requests, use of NUMSAS, medication queries, health information, poisoning/overdoes and advice on minor ailments • Ensuring that audit compliance is above 80%, taking on board feedback that reflects on your practice to ensure calls handled are completed in a safe and effective manner

The Requirements

Essential: • Be a qualified Pharmacist and registered with the GPhC • Previous experience of working within a community pharmacy service • Have good communication, listening and interpersonal skills • Be computer literate, including all Microsoft Packages Desirable: • Experience of telephone triage / advice service • Good knowledge of local primary care services including key players • Experience of autonomous working
