Job Details

Employer: University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust

Department: Paediatric Matron

Location: Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, Bristol

Salary: £40,428 - 48,514 pa pro rota

Due to reconfiguration in the well-established Paediatric Senior Nurse team a rare opportunity has arisen that we can extend our team by two matron posts.

  • Paediatric Intensive Care Unit Matron
  • Paediatric Cardiac and Neurosciences Matron

If you can provide strategic and positive leadership, champion innovation, promote forward thinking and change management then this is the role for you.

You will be supported in this role by clinical experts from the entire multidisciplinary team in order to lead and promote the services.

Our internationally renowned hospital is a regional tertiary referral centre, offers a variety of specialties and is within a Trust that has CQC Outstanding status and has a strong education and research focus. We are fortunate to have our own Faculty of Children’s Nurse Education and a dedicated Women’s and Children’s research department.

We are very proud of our Hospital and would encourage you to visit and see it for yourself, from our colourful departments, specialist equipment to our friendly staff.

We are supported by two proactive charities, Above and Beyond and The Grand Appeal. The Grand Appeal’s Gromit Unleashed 2 Trail is about to hit the south west which will raise substantial funds for clinical services. The city of Bristol is frequently voted a top destination in the UK and Europe to live and visit. There has never been a better time to relocate to and explore the beautiful and vibrant city of Bristol.

Please contact Mark Goninon, Head of Nursing, via his personal assistant, to organise an informal visit or telephone call on BRHCHoNMedPA@uhbristol.nhs.uk or 0117 342 7062

Company

At UH Bristol we understand Nursing isn’t just a job – it’s a way of life. We give it our all, day after day, to provide our patients with the excellent standard of care they deserve. In return, we will give you the support, the development opportunities, and work-life balance, to help ensure you live your life as a Nurse to the full.

If you have first class Nursing skills, there aren’t many better places to use them than here in Bristol. We have invested in our hospital buildings; creating an environment that’s great to work in, and even better to be treated in. Our Nurses have the support of our Supervisory Ward Sisters, as well as great opportunities for rotation and development, while they benefit from a culture that respects and acts on their views.

We are extremely proud of our position as a major teaching and research hospital with strong links to the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England, and with our excellent CQC (Care Quality Commission) assessment in March 2017, this makes University Hospitals Bristol one of only six large acute hospital Trusts in England to be rated ‘Outstanding’. A superb recognition of what makes our Trust so special – the respectful, caring and human approach we take to treat others as we would want to be treated ourselves.
