Salary: £23,254 per annum

Oundle School is one of the Country’s premier co-educational boarding and day schools.  The School is spread throughout the historic town of Oundle, which is situated approximately 12 miles from Peterborough.   A boarding school provides a unique and varied working environment.

To start in September 2018, we are seeking either paediatric or adult trained registered nurses to join an established Health Care team on a full or part time basis.  Full time hours are 160 hours over a 4 week period averaging 40 hours per week.

The Health Centre offers a 24/7 service to pupils in term time, with the School Doctors operating GP surgeries for the boarders (under the NHS) at the school based Health Centre. A team of Registered Nurses provide a range of emergency and routine health services to include minor injuries and illness, sporting injuries, sexual health, emotional support, supporting pupils with long term conditions, health care profiling and planning and providing public health education for pupils and staff.

Typical duties include triage, assessment and treatment of illness and injuries, new starter medicals, travel advice and vaccinations (includes some routine vaccinations), care of in-patients and health promotion.  The rota includes night shifts for which sleeping facilities are provided but staff are expected to provide waking cover when there are in-patients. Nurses generally work on average 4 night shifts per 4 week period.

Term Time is 33 weeks per annum therefore the successful candidate will enjoy lengthy holiday periods. In addition to the contracted hours you will work 15 “floating” hours over the year, for requirements such as training.
