Job Description

Exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual who thinks on their feet and has great interpersonal skills to join and contribute to the development and growth of the pharmacy department and hospital services in the role of a Pharmacy Technician. This is a part time role working 35 hrs per week. Attractive and competitive salary which will be dependent upon skills and experience. Duties & Responsibilities

The purpose of the role is to work under a licensed pharmacist to prepare and dispense medications to patients. To ensure that prescriptions are filed properly and quickly. Process pharmacy purchases. Deal directly with patients in obtaining medical information and dispensing prescriptions. Document and stock medications that arrive at the pharmacy. Keep stock of medications on hand and let the pharmacist know when they are needed. - Dispense prescription drugs and other healthcare items to patients as directed by the licensed pharmacist. - Handle clerical duties such as: answering phones, placing orders and taking payments. - Complies with pharmacy with pharmacy procedures and regulations. - Order medication as directed by the pharmacist. - Maintain electronic database of patients and prescription information. - Communicates with prescribers about patients repeat prescriptions and medications

Skills & Experience

Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) - 4 years post registration experience Qualification as a pharmacy technician Experience working within a retail pharmacy Evidence of on-going personal and professional development Experience of working to protocols and guidelines Aware of the political and organisational drivers that impact on the service Understanding of the Clinical Governance Framework
