Associate Director (Professional Practice)

Royal College of Nursing

Edinburgh

£64,341

Imagine if every nurse in Scotland was relying on you. Depending on you to help them make the most of their talents. To champion their cause. And to help the country better appreciate the work they do.

Here at the UK’s largest nursing trade union and professional body, our 435,000 members need just that kind of support. As Associate Director, you’ll work with the Director in all manner of areas. However, you’ll also have ultimate responsibility for our professional practice activities in Scotland.

Giving nurses the tools to excel
It calls for a big picture focus. You’ll need to shape strategies that enhance learning, development and education, and influence policies, agendas, clinical practice and regulation both here and within government. But equally, your operational acumen and insistence on details will be key to inspiring our passionate team and effectively managing our resources.

A nursing champion
As you’d expect, it’s essential you’ve a degree, post-nursing qualification (or equivalent) and are registered with the NMC. However, that won’t be enough to inspire senior figures, local activists, education institutes and media across the country. But with your magnetic leadership and political acumen pushing for the standards you know nurses need and deserve, everything will suddenly become possible.
