An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join and lead the trusts established children’s diabetes nursing team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join a committed multidisciplinary paediatric diabetes team. This is a challenging, fulfilling and exciting post for a Band 6 nurse looking for promotion or for an existing Band 7 nurse looking for a change

Person Specification: The hospitals multidisciplinary diabetes team provides a service for children and young people aged 0-19 years. The post holder will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team who deliver a specialist clinical service for children and young people living with diabetes, as set out in the Paediatric Diabetes Best Practice Tariff.

The successful applicant would be coordinating the care for children and young people with diabetes and their families in a variety of settings including: hospital, home and school. They would be providing essential assessment, ongoing care and support as well as creating and delivering educational programs.

With close support from the multidisciplinary team: Specialist Dietician, Psychologist and a number of Paediatric Consultants, the post holder will have the opportunity to build upon their existing knowledge and skills, and further develop their own nursing practice.

Benefits: The hospital have on site accommodation, Competitive salary, pension scheme, continuous training & development, 27 days per annum rising to 29 days after 5 years service and 33 days after 10 years service plus 8 days Bank Holidays, pro rata. High cost allowance 5% of basic salary
