Job Description

The Deputy Chief Nursing Officer will provide support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in providing day-to-day clinical leadership, management and operational direction across The Princess Grace Hospital. This is a full-time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) plus Exec on-call responsibilities. The attractive and competitive salary for this role is £70,000 - £85,000 and will be dependent upon skills and experience. Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing leadership across the hospital ensuring that an appropriate structure is in place to support nursing and Health care assistants at all levels • Take the lead responsibility for ensuring adequate clinical governance in respect to nursing services and medical residents • Develop a local strategic plan for nursing (to include, but not limited to, education, research, practice development and clinical audits) in order to meet service and specialty needs • Establish effective working relationships and communication within the hospital, across the HCA group and institutions relevant to the hospital • As a core member of the hospital team, the Deputy CNO will play a significant role in leading, planning and commissioning new services as well as identifying continuous improvement to current services • Develop, maintain and continuously review standards of patient care. Devise and apply programmes for evaluating compliance and implementing professional nursing policies and standards • Responsible and accountable for all resources and budgetary provisions applicable to nursing within the hospital • Contribute to the change agenda and initiatives within the HCA Healthcare Group collaboratively with key stakeholders to achieve strategic and operational change

Skills & Experience

• Registered General Nurse with significant senior nursing and operational management experience • Proven experience within acute care settings, including, Theatres, ITU, Surgical, Orthopaedics, Oncology etc • Relevant post graduate qualification, including degree level education • Experience in leading successful change management and quality improvements • A confident communicator with a can do attitude, passion for nursing and the ability to work calmly in pressured environments
