Noble’s Hospital, Isle of Man is recruiting a registered nurse for our renal units. The successful candidate will ideally have one year’s experience. However, we will consider applicants with a variety of backgrounds as all necessary training for the role will be given. A competency programme is in place within the team with a specialist renal course undertaken through distance learning.
There are two renal units on the Isle of Man, the successful candidate will work at both Nobles Hospital near Douglas, and Ramsey District Cottage Hospital in the north of the island. Both units have six beds, with Noble’s Hospital dealing with the acute renal patients, and Ramsey District Cottage Hospital acting as a satellite unit looking after established patients.
Initially, the post holder will be part of our nursing team caring for patients undergoing haemodialysis. The role will develop to include care for pre-dialysis patients, those being receiving peritoneal dialysis, and those who have undergone kidney transplant. Future plans involve the rotation of renal staff across specialist clinics within renal services.

The Isle of Man is a low tax economy with a maximum rate of personal income tax of 20%.
Interview expenses and a relocation package of up to £7,000 based on receipts are available for this role. This role also qualifies for a recruitment incentive of £3,000 which will be paid in £1,000 instalments spread over two years.
Subsidised accommodation and assistance with housing costs may also be available.

Newly opened in 2003 Noble’s Hospital is the islands’ only District General Hospital. It is equipped to the very latest standards with a total complement of 317 beds. We provide a comprehensive range of services typical of most District General Hospitals including acute medicine, general & orthopaedic surgery, maternity, paediatrics, SCBU, ITU & CCU. There is also a stroke unit and thrombolysis is performed on a 24/7 basis in ED.

Many of the changes brought about to the UK NHS, as a consequence of the reorganisations of recent years have not been adopted here. Although we are spate from the UK NHS, nursing on the island is regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
