Rowcroft hospice services cover the 300 square miles of South Devon and a population of 280,000 and delivers ‘outstanding’ specialist palliative care to this population regardless of diagnosis or circumstance. In response to the growing number of people who will require specialist palliative care in the future we have developed a five year strategic plan to ensure our multi-disciplinary workforce is highly skilled, competent, confident and resilient. This plan includes further developing our nursing workforce, integrating new roles, using technology and developing our skill-mix.

Job Outline

We are looking for a highly motivated senior nurse with significant experience in professionally leading others. This exciting new post will take an integrated approach to the delivery and development of palliative care nursing expertise both within the hospice and externally. The post holder will oversee the management of our Inpatient and Hospice@Home services. They will be a core member of the senior management team and will act as deputy to the Director of Patient Care supporting the development and implementation of clinical strategies and working collaboratively with clinical colleagues in the NHS and other key stakeholders.  

Person Required

You will have advance communication skills, a Masters or working towards, significant experience in palliative, cancer or chronic disease management. In addition, you will have proven line-management skills, experience of managing a budget and ideally experience of nursing in a variety of settings.
