Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing

The University of Wolverhampton was established nearly 190 years ago and we remain loyal to our mission to provide applied higher education, cutting edge research, strategic business engagement and an excellent student experience. Today we are a University with 22,000 students, graduate employment at 95%, recognised for world leading research across all our research areas, we are a key player in the economic regeneration of this industrial heartland.

The Faculty of Education Health and Wellbeing is one of four Faculties within the University and is multi-disciplinary comprising the Institutes of Health Professions, Public Health, Social Work and Social Care, Education, Psychology and Sport. We are committed to growing high quality education and research that informs and contributes to transformational change and excellence, working in collaboration with our expanding network of partners locally, nationally and internationally.

We are looking to appoint a registered health care professional to a joint professorship in Clinical Practice and Innovation between Royal Wolverhampton Hospital Trust and the Faculty of Education, Health and Well-being (FEHW), University of Wolverhampton. The post offers an opportunity to both develop clinical research capacity and capability, and support optimisation of evidence based clinical practice across the two organisations.

You would divide your time equally between both organisations and lead opportunities for research collaboration between the organisations and translation of research into practice. Your own research would need to align with both organisations’ research objectives (research that improves and innovates health care). We would particularly welcome applications from researchers with a track record in clinical research in one of the following areas:

•    Pain management
•    Wound care
•    End of life care
