Break into Prison Healthcare!

Are you looking for a new challenge in an environment where no two days are the same? Are you looking to work for a company that offers support and development opportunities? If so, then this could be the role for you! Care UK is looking for Bank Registered Nurses to join our multi-disciplined team at HMP Bullingdon. HMP Bullingdon is a Cat B/C prison holding male adults ages 18 and over located in Arncottt near Bicester, Oxfordshire.

Benefits

The hourly rate for this bank role is £22.00 per hour. Rates may vary depending on experience. We offer a variety of benefits including: • Training and development opportunities as and when required • Staff well-being • Onsite Coffee Shop • Cycle to work scheme as well as online retail discounts, onsite gym and onsite free parking

About the Job

As a Bank Staff Nurse, the skills you use may be similar to those you need working in Health promotion or A&E, alternatively you may be supporting people managing their mental health or substance misuse issues. You’ll carry out – and potentially develop – nurse-led clinics, reviewing patient histories, undertaking relevant examinations and tests, organising any necessary treatment and referring patients to other healthcare professionals when you need to. Across everything you do, you’ll maintain accurate records and provide the kind of helpful, empathetic support that will make every patient feel at ease. Every day will bring new challenges and new experiences. But at the same time, you’ll have all the support you need to deliver the best care possible. Are you new to prison healthcare? Do not worry... you will be supported and mentored throughout your first 6 months with Care UK by experienced teams of highly skilled nurses and practitioners as well as management.

About Care UK

Care UK is the Health in Justice Market leader, providing healthcare services to over 25,000 offenders in over 35 prisons across the country. Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach – an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care.

Further Job Information

We welcome informal visits by appointment so please do contact us for more information and to arrange this. Please note that offers of employment are subject to Care UK Terms & Conditions and receipt of satisfactory references, enhanced DBS check and prison vetting.

You will be a Registered Nurse (RGN) looking to develop your current skills in a unique and ever changing environment. You will have a passion for learning and development, as well as having the initiative to bring new ideas and opinions on how to improve the healthcare services.

Prison Healthcare experience is not essential although we do ask that you have experience within primary care.
