Are you ready to be part of the future of patient flow?

Would you like to play a key role in the first multi-site Teletracking implementation in the United Kingdom?

Mid Essex, Southend & Basildon hospitals are the first multi-site NHS organisation in the United Kingdom to implement Teletracking. Teletracking is a patient flow system which uses technology to improve the management of hospital admissions, transfers and discharges.

The Teletracking system supports hospitals to drive efficiencies to improve patient flow, reduce patient waiting times, increase capacity and improve the utilisation of resources, whilst at the same time giving “time to care” back to nurses.

The first of the three sites will “go live” in September and you can be a part of this amazing journey. We need experienced, highly skilled and ambitious band 7 registered nurses to join the team. You will need to be confident and ready to learn a very different approach to patient flow and bed management. If you have a good clinical knowledge and understanding of patient pathways this is an opportunity you shouldn’t miss!

You will be a senior member of the team working in both the Control Centre based in Billericay as well as on all three acute sites, on a rotational basis. On the acute sites, you will be the first point of contact and escalation, when working in the Control Centre, your responsibilities will include the co-ordination and facilitation of admissions, transfers and discharges of all patients on the three acute sites.

You will ensure that beds and resources are allocated appropriately whilst maintaining clinical quality and safety. You will also be expected to provide clinical and professional advice and guidance to staff as required.

Working as part of a team, your main duties will include the coordination of admissions, transfers and discharges for all patients at Mid Essex, Southend & Basildon hospitals on a 24/7 basis, 365 days a year. This will require you to cover night and day shifts on a rotational basis.

You will have complete real-time visibility of all beds on all three sites. This visibility will provide you with an accurate understanding of the current state of every bed (occupied, available, dirty and clean) as well as pending and confirmed discharges and the progress of every patient against their discharge milestones. With this information, you will be responsible for the accurate placement of every patient waiting for an inpatient bed. Successful applicants will also support the clinical teams and work closely with key stakeholders on the acute sites.

This new technology enables the “auto discharge” of patients which alerts a dedicated bed cleaning team who turn the bed around swiftly for the next patient.. Porters will be using Teletracking technology to move ready patients to ready beds, reducing delays and allowing the teams on the ground and in the Control Centre to focus on our patients.

If you think you have what it takes to be part of this exciting new initiative and you are passionate about great patient care, we would love to hear from you.
