Job Details
Women’s Centre, John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford
Grade 7: £32,236 - £39,609 p.a.
We are seeking an enthusiastic registered nurse who is adaptable and stimulated by a dynamic working environment, to join the Paediatric Neuroimaging research team based at the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford. The Senior Neonatal Research Nurse post will involve identifying and recruiting neonatal patients to a number of research studies, performing clinical procedures, maintaining study documentation, collecting data, and supporting a variety of neonatal studies ranging from exploratory research to clinical trials.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and researchers, you will have a can do attitude, and be willing to negotiate, train and advocate within the research context. You must be clinically competent in neonatal care, and be willing to provide clear communication between the clinical and research teams.
The ideal candidate will be highly experienced in working in a clinical research environment (preferably neonatal research), and will be competent in delivering research to GCP standards. You must have excellent communication and organisational skills, and a willingness to learn new minor clinical procedures and recording techniques (e.g. EEG recording/MRI scanning).
The post is full-time and fixed-term for 3 years in the first instance.
If no suitable applicants are identified on Grade 7, a Neonatal Research Nurse appointment on Grade 6 (£28,660 - £34,189 p.a.) with an appropriate adjustment in the duties may be considered. The Neonatal Research Nurse will still be expected to be clinically competent in neonatal care, but may have less experience of clinical research. Training in research processes and conduct will be provided in such circumstances.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Dr Vaneesha Monk using the contact details below.
Only applications received before 12.00 midday on Wednesday 31 October 2018 will be considered. Interviews will be held on Thursday 15 November 2018.
