Working with a team of nurses, an administrator and a housekeeper, the Lead Nurse is responsible for leading the day to day operations of the School's busy health centre, providing medical and health care to boarding and day pupils, and - where necessary - staff, external contractors and visitors. This role is responsible for managing the team of nurses and liaising directly with the Deputy Head (Pastoral) and external, retained GPs. The Lead Nurse is responsible for looking at ways to improve the operational efficiency and managing change, as well as ensuring professional standards are being met at all times. Upholding gold standard practice in line with the NMC professional body, and regulations governing Independent Schools, including the National Minimum Standards for Boarding. Equally important is taking the lead in being welcoming and friendly to pupils and staff and maintaining a good team spirit.
