Located in the heart of London’s esteemed medical district, the newly-refurbished Princess Grace Hospital offers a wide range of medical and surgical specialities. Supported by world-class doctors, the hospital has 127 beds, including a purpose-built intensive care unit, and 8 fully-equipped theatres. In early 2017, The Princess Grace Hospital opened the London Digestive Centre, which is a state-of-the-art; modern healthcare facility based over six floors in a prime location on Welbeck Street, (W1G 8EA). This is a highly specialised GI/HPB outpatient facility which treats conditions of the stomach, small/large intestines, liver, pancreas, and bile duct. We have full diagnostic imaging services available on-site, including; MRI, CT, Ultrasound, low dose digital X-Ray, and Fibroscan.

Job Description

The Senior 1 MRI Radiographer will assist in the provision of an efficient diagnostic imaging service, working as part of the wider radiography team providing a high quality and professional service. This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week. Opening hours of the department are 8am to 8pm, Monday – Friday. The attractive and competitive salary for this role is £32,000 - £43,049 (negotiable in excess of £43K, depending upon skills and experience). Duties & Responsibilities

• Carry out a full range of MRI procedures to the agreed standards of the department • Maintain a high standard of patient care and comfort at all times • Share clinical knowledge with junior colleagues through CPD sessions and ad-hoc teaching/training opportunities. • Actively involved in the improvements of standards in MRI techniques by reviewing protocol in line with evolving best practice • To observe and comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act, and escalate all clinical incidents involving equipment, patients or staff by effective use of the DATIX incident reporting system • Assist the Imaging administrative team when required and help with the booking of immediate appointments as well as maintaining appropriate departmental records as necessary • Actively participate in some of the Governance/Service development programmes, which include; Protocol books, Fire Safety, Radiologist audit, Infection Control & Customer feedback • Work flexibly based on requirements of service and assist in other areas such as x-ray and ultrasound to support the needs of the department when required • Participate with the Quality Assurance protocol within the department and act as practitioner in the justification of all MRI images • Appear on duty promptly and appropriately dressed and behave in a professional manner at all times

Skills & Experience

• Qualified Radiographer with current HCPC registration • Continuous MRI experience with competencies across other modalities – CT, Interventional Radiology & Core Services • To hold a BSc (or equivalent) in Diagnostic Radiography with a portfolio of relevant CPD • Understanding of IR(ME)R, including the role of the operator, practitioner, referrer, employer and medical physics • Demonstrate a broad range of effective communication skills to form an effective working relationship with consultants, medical, nursing and administrative staff as well as referrers • Patient focused individual who is a team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
