Description:

We are offering a unique opportunity to work with a significant provider of high quality mental health services and to make a real difference, whilst fully utilising your nursing experience within a secure, innovative, and dynamic environment. You will be primarily contributing to the delivery of healthcare services to a category B prison population holding male prisoners.

As a Specialist Recovery Practitioner, you will ensure the provision of a health service that meets the holistic needs of clients. The post-holder will be located within the prison to support the delivery of either the Nexus Day Service or Nexus Outreach Service. Tasks may include motivational work with individuals with complex needs who have previously experienced difficulties in engaging with services, development of psychological formulations of individuals’ difficulties, direct therapeutic work (group and individual) with offenders, as well as workforce development in the form of staff training, consultation and supervision. This would be a great opportunity for any individual wishing to develop their therapeutic/engagement skills.

Person Specification:

Applicants must be either a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), Occupational Health Therapist, or a Social Worker.

The post-holder should have a relevant qualification with registration, and ideally experience of working with service users with personality/complex needs. Experience of working with in a forensic setting would be advantageous, although not essential.
