We have an opportunity for a Specialist Nurse to join their team of staff in the Imaging department.

This is a FULL time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

The Priory Imaging department is looking for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic senior nurse to join their team. The applicant must be a registered nurse with significant experience in any of the following clinical areas; Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath-lab, Theatre scrub or Recovery.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate commitment to their own personal development and show a keen interest in the future development of our services. The department will offer the opportunity to expand your clinical expertise in  areas such as 'scrubbing' for procedures and developing our circulating role for patients undergoing a variety of procedures to include EVARs, Angiograms, Cath lab studies and a variety of additional interventional procedures. 
This role will include recovering patients following sedation and will provide nursing support within other Imaging modalities including CT, Ultrasound and general x-ray as required.  We would like to explore extending this role to support with a nurse led
pre-assessment service for many of our Interventional Radiology cases.

The applicant must demonstrate good clinical leadership skills and be able to act as a role model, who will provide direction and support to junior staff as required.

 

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Registered Nurse Level 1 / Diploma / BSc in Nursing.
  • Evidence of relevant clinical professional development preferably evidenced by certification RN with valid NMC Registration.
  • Excellent clinical applied knowledge which is evidenced based and takes account of national best practice standards.
  • Basic workload / shift management skills.
  • Mentorship Qualification (ENB 998 or equivalent).
  • Up-to-date knowledge in area of practice.
  • Awareness of NMC Code of Accountability.
  • Awareness of NMC Standards for specialist education and practice.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.

Duties of this role include:     

  • To plan the specialist service for both inpatients and outpatients. Promoting and maintaining high professional standard of nursing; meeting the needs of patients in all aspects.  
  • To take the lead across specialist services in agreement with Executive Directors and Directors of Clinical services on initiatives to develop and modernise effective patient centred pathways from diagnosis to discharge.
  • To plan the specialist service for both inpatients and outpatients.
  • Promoting and maintaining high professional standard of nursing; meeting the needs of patients in all aspects.  
  • To take the lead across specialist services in agreement with Executive Directors and Directors of Clinical services on initiatives to develop and modernise effective patient centred pathways from diagnosis to discharge.
  • Ensure accurate records of patient care and progress maintained at all times, ensuring risk assessments are completed and repeated in accordance with corporate and local policy, practice and procedure.

Salary & Benefits:
