The hospital also has a several specialised centres, including; The London Breast Institute, recognised as one of the best private breast screening and diagnostic treatment centres in the UK; the London Digestive Centre, a highly specialised outpatient facility offering diagnoses and treatments for all conditions of the stomach, small and large intestines, liver, pancreas, and bile ducts; and The Institute of Sport Exercise and Health, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to sport and exercise medicine.

Urgent care is provided for a variety of conditions, including acute medical conditions such as respiratory and chest complaints; traumatic injuries; ear, nose and throat conditions; fractures, sprains and strains; stomach, bowel and bladder problems; minor wounds, burns, or cuts and grazes and general aches and pains.

We are currently recruiting for a Sister/Charge Nurse in our Urgent Care Centre.

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sister/Charge Nurse to join the urgent Care , providing effective leadership, expertise, advice and support to the team, carrying continuous responsibility for the management of the unit, making effective use of resources and ensuring the highest standards of care to patients and families are achieved.

This is a full time position: 37.5 hours per week (Shifts covering 8am-10pm)

Salary: from £38,000- £50,330 (dependent on experience) + enhancements and Benefits

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Make efficient use of available resources, within budgetary constraints, to meet business objectives
  • Prioritise workloads and direct staff accordingly
  • Demonstrate and role model outstanding clinical practice at all times
  • Develop and coach team members to ensure consistently high standards of care are met
  • Regularly deputise for Modern Matron/other departmental Sisters when required
  • Evaluate the work of the team and ensure standards are met

Skills & Experience

  • RGN with current NMC PIN
  • Significant post-graduate experience within an A&E setting
  • Completed a A&E and/or Minor Injuries/illnesses course
  • Experience of plastering and suturing
  • Management or supervisory experience
  • ENB 998 (or equivalent) 
  • Demonstrable experience of managing budgets
